- 「軍縮よさらば」なのか？― インドは米国の「核のテント」に入った ―（The Daily Star, 2005年11月1日）
本年7月、インドのシン首相がワシントンを訪問した際に発表されたブッシュ大統領との共同声明で、米印の原子力協力協定の締結が明らかとなった。“The Times of India”の前編集責任者であり著名なコラムニスト、そしてインドの核軍縮運動の共同創立者であるプラフル・ビッドウエイ（Praful Bidwai）氏が11月1日付けの“The Daily Star”（バングラデシュの主要紙）に“Farewell to Nuclear Disarmament ?”と題するコラムを寄稿した。ビッドウエイ氏は本コラムで、協定はインドの大きな政策転換である、これはインドが「責任ある」核兵器国になり核戦力を増強する一方で、他国の核兵器取得を阻止する核不拡散体制の強化に貢献することを意味する、インドは核不拡散強化の時流に乗り核の覇権は得るものの、今後インドが支払わなければならない代償は計り知れない、この転換は核廃絶につながる核軍縮が最重要課題であるとするネルーの貴重な遺産を捨て去るものである等、痛烈に批判している。
